The essential oil can treat cough, common cold sore throat, and other respiratory infections — these oils derived from plants and seeds that found throughout the world. Usually, oils used aromatherapy to treat several types of diseases. However, researches and studies found that essential can reduce coughs by suppressing bacterial growth in the respiratory system and throat. There are no specific directions to use these oils as prescription medications. We need to follow some precautions while using essential oils. I will share with some essential oils for cough treatment. I hope this article may help you to understand better and reduce your symptoms.

Over the counter medications such as vapor and chest rubs also contains eucalyptus or its primary compound, named eucalyptol to increase symptoms of cough and congestion.

How To Use:
- Add a tablespoon of eucalyptus oil to two tablespoons of carrier oil and mix them well.

- Alternatively, you can add a few drops of eucalyptus oil to boiling water and inhale the steam before bed.
2. Thyme Essential Oil
Thyme essential oil is enriched with antiviral, antibacterial properties, which can also reduce a cough caused by bacteria or virus. Add carrier oils with while applying to your throat.
3. Tea Tree Essential Oil
We all know that tea tree oil beneficial to treat acne, pimple, and other skin conditions due to it’s antibacterial, antiviral, and anti-inflammatory abilities. As well as, it can treat cough, sore throat, and stuffy nose by fight off with harmful bacteria that causes sinus.

- Add two to three tablespoons of carrier oil to a tablespoon of peppermint oil and blend them well until getting a constant mixture.

It is the tree oil and used perfumes and some cosmetic products. Its beneficial components can reduce respiratory-related infections and prevent bacterial growth that causes cough and flue. You can apply this oil to the throat and by adding carrier oils in equal quantity.
6. Rosemary Oil
It is a medicinal herb found throughout the world. Rosemary oil also one of the best oil to treat cough due to its crucial compound cineole. According to a study, rosemary has potent medicinal abilities that can treat asthma. Add a few drops of carrier oil to this oil to lower high intensity. Moreover, rosemary oils often appealed to the skin to treat skin infection and to avoid other diseases.

Precautions And Risk Factors
- Essential oils most potent and do not ingest it. Always add them into a carrier oil and a diffuser or boiling water. Do not add more quantity of essential oil than the severity of the symptoms. Also, keep essential oils away from your children.
- Do not inhale raw oil that may irritate your throat and may lead to further complications.
- Essential oils will only provide relief at your home by increasing your resistance power.
- You should not use essential oils for cough if you ingest capsules for any other health-related problems.
- It is ideally better to use essential oils at nighttime.
